Kelly, do you know if there's ever been anything written, scientifically or otherwise, on the morphological similarities between Kinixys and planicauda? Something I've been wondering for a while.
@tortadise So cool. I've been looking through all of your Kinixys stuff now. You have a great representation of that interesting genus. I am especially drawn to the zombensis. There just isn't another tortoise out there that is quite like that. So cool.
@Anthony P thanks. I've always been fascinated with Kinixys genus. To me they are over collected and will be a conservation issue species in the future. Especially erosa/homeana. Te East African species fascinate me most. Zombensis, Lobatsiana, and natalensis. I had a natalensis specimen few years back. Unfortunately she scaled the enclosure wall and was never found. That species is by far the coolest. Super tiny. Only get about 6" and have wild patterns. Very unique species and genus indeed.
