    Crazy tortoise

Hi I have a Russian too and had similar problems when I first got her. Over time and with help from forum I discovered she loves digging and burying herself and also that she is sooo inquisitive and generally enjoys exploring and being quite mischievous. She will turn her plants over walk away...

Would you put your tort in these?

I just come across them online, have never seen anything like them before. They are brilliant although I think if have an enemy on my hands if I put her in one. I do like the Christmas ones though :)

Would you put your tort in these?

Not sure if my little one would still be my chum if I put her in one of these but I enjoyed looking through them :) Apologies of these have already been shared, just thought they were too sweet to pass by :)

Keeping my Russian tortoise warm at night.

Hi I live in Manchester and have a Russian a couple years older than yours. I was having similar heat issues so bought a heat mat from eBay which was inexpensive and ceramic heat emitter (CHE) from tesco website, was around £15-£20. The CHE bulb produces heat without light so perfect for...

    Temp home turned rescue

Update this morning ... Cabbage (female, dog bite victim) is super active off exploring however Sausage (male) is next to none. He only showed a little bit of movement last night during a soak. I'm going back to my friends after work so will check the temps etc and soak them. Cabbage is eating...

    Temp home turned rescue

    Temp home turned rescue

Hi everyone, I'm Becky and I have a Russian, Shelby. Today my friend called to say he was temporarily looking after his sisters friends two tortoises as she was in the process of moving and could I go round to help set up etc. Now I'm no expert, I rely on the good folk of this forum for advice...

    Are these bulbs ok? (Pics)

Omg so many difference in opinions, super confusing. However, I don't even want to consider risking using it if there is a slight chance it may be a 'bad' one. So can anyone recommend a uvb bulb, I'm from the UK.

    Are these bulbs ok? (Pics)

I've just purchased these two bulbs as my tortoise is now indoors and as it's my first winter with her I am not letting her hibernate. She currently has a bulb which isn't uvb (I think) and just provides heat which wasn't a problem before the winter set in as she spent majority of the time...

    Meet Mrs T

It's frustrating isn't it. I got Shelby in August from a pet store and didn't really know much about tortoises, just that I went in regularly and was always drawn to them. But I assumed she was a baby. The guy in the pet shop didn't really know all that much just about the care the shop had...
