I never said I would move the enclosure and in Winter i am fairly certain he would die in an outside place. You have to get them out ever so often, that is what i meant
I didnt want to change the whole set up of his tank, just create a little play area he can be in when we get him out. But i will make sure hes comfortable with the transitions
Thats what i was thinking with the white cloth that it could be easily burnt, i think if there is no safe artificial white turf, i should try and find some white or light coloured substrate, thanks
I really want to bring my tort into Christmas but I would imagine normal fake snow would possibly harm him and real snow is obviously too cold. Is there a tort safe fake snow that I can buy to bring him into the Christmas spirit of my family?
Thanks for the advice.
The lizard carpert section is very small and the rest is a tort sand that he can dig in. We decided to half the substrate to make it easier to clean and to give him some variation.
We also have two different thermometers just to be certain and that is the cheaper one to...
In the new one it is half a lizard carpet for an easy clean and the other half is specific tortoise terrain and in the old one it was wood chippings as a temporary solution
Im very new to not only this site but owning a tortoise.
The newest edition to my family is a young horse feild tortoise called Georgie and his sex is still unknown.
He is tiny, cute and seems to be doing well here so expect lots of pictures of my new little baby.
