Could he be eating his poop? He has never done it before. He looks fine, a little sluggish. Sleeps 18 hours a day. The other problem is that his eyelids (especially his third eyelid) doesn't open all the way. I don't think I could bear it if something happened to him
We have 7 month old Hermann's tortoise called Gangaram. He used to poop once every 5-7 days. I don't think he has gone for the past 3 weeks. Eats 2 tablespoons of chopped up vegetables - he loves cabbage but eats carrots, arugula and avocado also. Should I worry? I soak him for 2-3 hours in warm water every day - he still looks dry.

Avocado is toxic and dangerous for tortoises to consume and should be avoided at all costs. Check out the tortoise table website for any food you want to feed your tortoise to ensure they’re safe foods.

It’s not normal for a tortoise to poop only every 5 to 7 days. He need high fibre and low protein.

2 to 3 hour soaks everyday is very excessive. There‘s definitely something going on here if you soak for that long and he still looks dry. I recommend creating a post in the forum with pictures of your tortoise and his enclosure. Please include his age, weight, how long you’ve had him, what his diet is. Also include what you’re using for heat and uv and what your temps and humidity are.
