Those of you that have made enclosures, what do you use as the bottom that is waterproof and can be cleaned thoroughly? I have a 9 month old sulcata.

I have an 8 month old guy, how big do you suggest for an indoor enclosure? I see so much mixed information on tops, glass enclosures, etc. Picture for size reference. He’s still very small.

Yes he’s a sulcata. I make sure he gets mostly grasses, with some weeds. He’s picky, when I got him all he was fed was romaine.

I noticed what looks like fat at his back legs when I went to soak him today. He gets soaked, grasses with some romaine, calcium, access to water. UVB during the day, ceramic heat emitter at night. His enclosure is kept humid and warm. He was born in August.

What to do??

I saw something similar to this at petco the other day and almost bought it, but it was such flimsy plastic i didn’t trust it either.

Bingo. The lamp fell straight down, melted through the thick plastic dog crate tray I had in the bottom, the wooden bottom itself, the insulation, and was on my wood floor when I got home - to every smoke detector going off. I’m a little leery to get a plastic tote, when the lamp burnt through...

So I haven’t quite gotten good at identifying my grasses yet. I’m getting ready to mow and want to snag some grass/weeds for sully before I do. These weeds/grass is prominent in my yard. Can anyone tell me what it is so I know? TIA
