My Speke's is very sick. Took her to the exotic pet vet two weeks (again) because she was twitching her head up-and-down and side-to-side, like she was struggling to breathe. She literally rubbed her skin raw on the top and sides of her neck. They took a stool sample and did a throat culture...

I know it sounds weird. I've been searching all over the internet for answers! She's always done this and two visits to the vet conformed that her eyes were healthy. We keep her terrarium at about 90 -100 degrees, with humidity levels at around 50-60 percent. On drier days we soak her twice...

Wow, I spent like $200 on my Speke's hingeback. That was before I learned I could adopt. Looks like I got ripped off! :( She's pretty high-manintenance (and yes, a lot of work), but she was worth it, of course. We are very happy with her!

I believe these are Speke's as well. Does their shell bump up toward the back? We though we had a Bells Hingeback, but as she grew older and her shell got more defined, we did some online research with our vet and learned she was a Speke's.
