Unfortunately it just won't come back on at all! Getting a new one today!

Tried a normal bulb and it worked! Tried the MVB and it doesn't. The ceramic is off at the moment so if heat from the other bulb is an issue I'll soon know. I haven't used these before so don't know how long they take to light/warm up. After 5 mins I'll jist guess I need another MVB tomorrow!?

I tried another socket but will try a normal bulb in it as you suggested. How long does one normal take to turn on and light up? Would the heat from the ceramic bulb next to it not effect/stop it? It did flash when I first plugged it in, does that indicate anything?

Does anyone know if the home base topsoil is ok to use for tortoises? It says it sterilised and doesn't say anything about additives. They're pretty sure in the shop no it doesn't have additive and that it would clearly state if it did!

You may have just saved me money then! I already have a termostat and ceramic bulb and was going to set these up for night temp. So for day temp I just need a MVB and adjust the height to get the right temp, roughly 30cm above animal?

Just looked at some MVB bulbs and some say 'do not use with thermostat'. Is that normal? I thought I'd defo need a thermostat!
