Top Soil

Does anyone know if the home base topsoil is ok to use for tortoises? It says it sterilised and doesn't say anything about additives. They're pretty sure in the shop no it doesn't have additive and that it would clearly state if it did!

Hi. I wouldn't trust the top soils in these shops. I asked a similar question and was was suggested coco coir if you are looking for a soil texture & grade. I got the fine coco coir. My tort loves it. Would recommend you look into that.

I can't find it. My area isn't great fr pet shops either!

I agree with Steve, I wouldn't use topsoil, though some do, unless I knew not just about the additives, but what it's made from.
You need to know if it's made from decomposed plants that may be harmful or toxic to tortoises.
Can you order Coir from Amazon or the like ?
