    Mystery balls??

I just use orchid bark and coco coir and her outdoor enclosure is the lawn with various weeds and grass. I never give her fruit as I thought it wasn't good, except a bit of cucumber on a hot day

No, I threw them away after I took the photo 😔

    Mystery balls??

That is exactly what they look like! Much better than my description, thankyou! But no, never given her cherries and no fruit trees by her outdoor enclosure either. They are not much smaller than her head, so because they are so hard, I can't see how she could have eaten them.

    Mystery balls??

Hi all, Whole giving my tortoise her daily bath today, she had a poo and I also noticed these two balls in the water. They are hard as rock and about the size of half a baked bean each. They look like rather large lentils but not as flat. I'm so confused. The bath is cleaned after every...

    What is this?

Thanks for replying and extra info! I will give those links a read. The basking light I have only gives out uva light, not uvb. Does that mean I will need to get a separate uv bulb? I thought I read somewhere that both wasn't necessary, unless I understood it wrong or the info was wrong...

    What is this?

I'm going to hold off taking a photo at the moment as it's not finished and is very basic atm. I need to get her a new enclosure that's bigger as she will be staying indoors for the winter now and i want to try adding a few plants. But at the moment she's in a wooden table that is 3.5ft by 2...

    What is this?

I've just given my baby a little soak. Left her for a two/three minutes. When I got back the water had this in it. It smells quite bad. Is it vomit or is it poop? It's a bit more green than what it looks like on the photo so I'm thinking vomit. What may have caused this? Should I put her back...

    Laying unfertilized eggs

Sorry if this has been asked 1000 times but I can't seem to find any threads with the answer. My 15 month old female hermanns will one day be laying eggs. I just want to know, at what age/size should she begin to lay eggs? What indoor conditions are needed? Like a certain type of substrate she...

    How much is too much?

Hi, I have just become the proud new owner of a 15 month old female hermanns called Betty. She was my brother in laws, but as he works away a lot of the time, he has asked me to have her as I already have an older male. She's still tiny (55g) so obviously has her own enclosure ect. She...

    Help with identification please?

Hi, I have two tortoises. The larger one is a couple of inches bigger now compared to when the photo was taken a few years ago. He is now 11 inches long (just the shell) and the small tortoise is around the same size as in the photo, so has stopped growing. The small tortoise (age, at least 30)...
