I have two Mojave desert tortoises (I think). Mr. T has been with us for a year. Trudy just came to live with us a couple weeks ago.
They have full range of our backyard so always have Bermuda grass and geraniums to eat. I supplement their diet also. They have a doghouse converted to tort house. Mr. T used that but he has allowed Trudy to make it her house. He goes under some large shrubs.
Previous owner thinks Trudy may have eggs to lay as their male was on her. (Oh I hope not) Our Mr. T has tried but I distract him easily. Then he forgets she is around.
We also have two small dogs that are in and out by doggie door. They mostly ignore the torts.
I’m learning so much from this site. I thought we were doing so good with the feeding…wrong! I will be doing better from now on.
