My daughter, who lives a couple blocks from me, felt it a little, but I didn't.

LOL...so all is fine here....6.4 near Ridgecrest is a perfect place for it. Not really any buildings over single story...miles and miles of open space leading to and from the area....and I love the pics of the store with the mess on the floor...you would think by now the folks that own stores in Cali would spend a bit more and obtain the shelves with a 3 to 4 inch border/crib edge to assure that the bottles don't slide off and waste all the yummy booze...dang.... :) I believe Landers, Ca was the one they referred to as "20 years" ago....now, that was a memorable one for sure....

I’m down in Southern California, about an hour North of San Diego on the coast. Definitely felt it, all the turtle tanks were rocking back and forth!

They're now saying that the one mentioned above was a Pre-shock, and the one last night that was 7.something was the earthquake. There have been hundreds of aftershocks, with some in the 5.0 magnitude. So last night I was sitting in my recliner watching TV and Misty was laying next to the chair. I reached down and gave her a poke because I thought she was licking herself and causing my chair to move back and forth. Later, while watching the news, I realized that I was feeling the 7.something earthquake, and not Misty licking herself!

There has been quite a bit of destruction to property down in the Ridgecrest, Mojave area, but, thankfully, no deaths. I wonder if any desert tortoise burrows were collapsed.

Yvonne, the desert tortoise here will boogie out of their burrows just before an earthquake and then sit for a bit and then boogie back down after the rockin and rollin stops....I watched on two different events...the first one I did not realize that was why they were all out an about then shacking and then the second time I was like hey, what the ---oh...okay then guys. I was not near where they were these two last times to conf their activity.
