  • Hello Mark, I have a russian tortoise and I am in the near future looking to purchase a cherry head tortoise or a bermese star tortoise (MALE).
What would be a good enclosure set up as well as for the proper care such as heating/lighting/humidity.
I can be reached on here or my email to talk personally. [email protected]
    Thank you!

Hi Mark. My name is Janet. I will be buying a PP from Tom and he thinks highly of you and your enclosures..Could I get information from you about what I would need, cost,,shipping etc.My email is [email protected]. Hope to hear from you soon.
Do you sell/ship your tortoise enclosures? We have a hatchling that we are needing a proper habit for. My email is [email protected]. If not, could you at least send a picture so that I know what to look for in our area. I am desperate for help...
Hi Mark, I was wondering if I could order a smart enclosure from you. If you can't I totally understand, but if you can we can arrange something later.

You certainly can. But first if you can send me an email, I can reply with a complete info sheet with pricing so you can see if you are still interested. I am very overloaded with orders right now, so I might add it is about a 10 week wait right now to get one built for you.

    My email is [email protected]

    Love all your posts

Would love the plans for your outdoor enclosure...Amazing!!

Do you have any more Burmese Stars
Also - did you leave the floor unsealed / natural plywood as Tom noted in his post? What brand type of sealer and/or caulk was used to seal the edges/seams? Are you also using an oil filled heater secured by wooden walls? I have always been curious as to other heating options outdoors (aside from the Kane pads) Thanks!
Awesome - Thank you! Are those all Sulcatas in your profile pic? All female or how do you prevent fighting?
Hi Mark, I have 3 males 15 y/o. They started fighting recently forcing ER division of outdoor enclosure. I'm hoping to find excellent homes for 2, but so far haven't found an trustworthy option.*I would appreciate your advice on heating outdoor year round, as my indoor enclosure is dependent on housing the 3 of them together. Are you able to monitor the temp remotely? From your house or if away? Thanks – Amanda

Look at Tom's thread on his night box design. I use that for my tortoises outdoors. I also use SensorPush temp & humidity monitors. Everything is run by app on my iphone. Do a search for sensorpush by Markw84 to find more details on the forum
    Hello!
Our Sulcata is a female and nine years old. About a month ago she started trying to escape. Yesterday she succeeded but is home safe and sound. She keeps trying to break out in the same direction. My question is how far can she sense a male. If heard 100 yards. Is that accurate? Could it be 500 yards or more?
    Thank you

I don't find females trying to get to males. It's the males that will try to get to a female. I do find that some will just become restless certain times of the year and seem like they are trying to search out new territories. They can be totally content with their surroundings most of the year, then suddenly they want to move. I have two trying to do that now. It usually lasts a month or so.
Hi Mark, I read your comment to Lorenzo about an extra scute on Sulfates are usually 90% females? I found one in my backyard last month and it has an extra scute!
