Water Filtration for Red Foot TORTOISE

Thanks!!! I'm actually asking more for fogger/sprayer and soaking water for shell health. I worry about mineral deposits or calcium build up on the shell. Keeping clean water in the enclosure so far just means me replacing it many times each day - these little bulldozers just don't care...

Water Filtration for Red Foot TORTOISE

Sorry, I will have a lot of questions while I'm still building the next enclosure for my red foot. I've had her almost a year now - we guess she is probably a little over 2 years old. I am curious about using filtered water for the fogger/bath/sprayers. I've learned a lot about my baby...

    Red Foot Spagnum Moss

Thank you. I took it out right away. It was only in there about 20 minutes. I saw her wanting to eat it and it concerned me. I've seen a TON of red foot enclosures online with it - I was surprised to learn it was harmful. Thank you so much!

    Red Foot Spagnum Moss

Is spagnum moss safe for my Red Foot? The fogger saturates the substrate on the corner where the tube enters the enclosure. I was hoping spagnum moss in a small bowl could soak it up hold humidity and prevent total saturation in that corner Any recommendations?

    Calcium Deficiency in this tortoise?

I do not have a sulcata tortoise, so I am no expert, but I can say that this baby should see a veterinarian very soon! Proper heating and proper bedding/substrate are not shown above. A vet. an assess the tort's current condition and give advice for proper care. This little soul looks...

Good job on changing the substrate and for taking this little cutie into your family! They are absolutely fun and adorable little mysteries and often act like toddlers at every age LOL. I really enjoy feeding my red foot by hand and I sit and talk/sing to her during daily soaks. Be careful...

    Red Foot Outdoor Indoor

She came from a pet shop and I think she ate mostly pellets. I appreciate the observation I worry about pyramiding and give a little fruit 2x per week and protein in small amounts every 2 weeks. Thanks for being here and caring!

    Red Foot Outdoor Indoor

Thanks!! I live in Maryland so having my baby outside in the winter months is a no go. I appreciate the advice. I want to give her fresh air and sunshine but not freak her out with all of the change. I’ll likely put everything in her outdoor enclosure in the same places as her indoor for some...
