I forgot to say I have them set on timers their lights switch 7-7.
Tom sorry I didn’t give any history, I’m a member of the San Diego turtle and tortoise society we get daily reliqishments of animals, I got the Texas deserts at a few days old, the California deserts ranging from a couple days...
Those are pics of the three enclosures Tom. I soak every other day. Yvonne what would you suggest then. Because honestly that’s what I’ve been doing was kind of raising them like I did mine baby Leo’s with the exception of the higher temps. I felt like especially The older of the 3 that died had...
I foster baby desert tortoises ranging from just a couple weeks old to a year old. I have 18. 10 Texas deserts and 8 California deserts. I have noticed my California deserts are not eating and a few staying in their hides. Well last night and this morning I lost 3 babies. 2 at a month old 1 at...
I had the megaray MVL my solar meter was saying that they were getting 3.1 uvb which in the morning when I would take them outside it would read a 4. I don’t do to much in the afternoon because it has been getting a little warm here. My humidity inside my enclosed chamber is only 70% I haven’t...
So a little history first. I got 4 CDT babies all about 10 mos old that I’m fostering about 2 weeks ago. 2 of the 4 have pretty soft shells, of those 2, one eats really well and moves in and out of the heat well as well as drinks and poops good. The other is sluggish, seriously puffy eyes...
hello, I’ve been on before with my leopard tortoises. But this time I come to you with questions and advice needed on CDTs. I recently moved from Georgia to California and joined the SD Turtle & Tortoise Society and am getting ready to foster some 10 mo old hatchlings. I have read the care sheet...
Oh no it was definitely his penis. He has been flashing us quite often lately. It’s like the new found toy . My poor kids will be like mom he is doing it again! But I have another male, so I don’t know if that has anything to do with it??
Ok I’m asking b/c the vet here in Jacksonville told us she was a girl. My other two have flashing parties so we know they are boys but I wanted to see what you all think here.
I have three leopard tortoises 2 males, Squirt & Bandit and a female, Jewel. They are 4, 2 & 2 yrs old and weigh 2084g-2759g. I will be moving from GA to CA in a couple months and am wondering how the move will effect my babies. I originally was going to try to sell them as much as it pains me...
Wellington, question for you. My three leopards eat twice a day a spring greens/weeds/or what vegetable I might give them from the local garden. If I don’t feed them on time they go and sit in their feeding area and wait for me. Should I try to cut back to once a day? They are 2, 2 & 4 yrs old...
I wish I could download my video of Jewel when she lets me give her neck rubs it won’t let me. She has loved them when she was a hatchling. As you start, she stretches her neck out really long. It’s so cute. She is two now & isn’t as fond of it.
I have one female, she is just over 2 yrs old. Hatched the 21st of February 2016. On her birthday she weighed 2368g. Her name is Jewel. I’m asking $700 for her. I can ship her through Delta, that way she gets there that day.
