2 Months in Wyoming!

Well, it's update time. Maggie and Molly are the little darlings of our household. They have traveled with me to Colorado to help when my mom had hip replacement surgery, and again to Montana for Thanksgiving. They much prefer being at home in their own digs, but when you're part of a family, there's just some stuff you gotta do!
I am loading their new pics, taken today. I will also attach their growth chart. I am really enjoying these little ladies!

Super cute babies! I just love how beautiful their shells are! Amazing!

Is that frog moss? I want to buy some of that stuff. Do your torties eat it?

In the foreground it's frog moss. I've purchased it from Carolina Pet Supply, in big sheets, and that's in the enclosures. These little clumps came from LLLReptile, and I like them better. They are in my new moss garden. The moss in the background was collected at my Mom's place in Colorado, very hardy.

Maggie and Molly are looking great!! They've almost broke that 100 gram mark, how exciting!!

Do you see any big personality differences in the two yet?

Sorry, didn't address the eating moss question. No, they don't eat it. They've mouthed it, but that's all.
Personality differences between the two? Hmmm. Molly is in generally bolder than Maggie, but sometimes it's Maggie who will be the first to try a new food. Their new enclosure (pics tomorrow, I hope) gives them more opportunities to be separate. Maggie tends to hid more among the plants, Molly spends much of her day right at the entrance of the humid hide, watching what goes on in the rest of her world.

Traveling: I will admit that my first choice would always be to leave them at home with reliable care. My temps in my house fluctuate too much in the winter, depending on weather, to be able to count on stable temps in their enclosures, and my pet care person is not 100% reliable. SO...... They traveled in the insulated box they were shipped to me in. I put them in there with "hot hands" and paper towels, and minimize the time they spend so boxed. On the second trip the box was divided so Torty could go, too. On our first trip, I brought their whole enclosure: lights, heat pad, everything. On the second trip we made a divided enclosure in a smaller tub and warmed it with one heat lamp during the day, and a human heat pad at night.
Again, traveling with them is not the ideal choice, but in these cases it was the better alternative.
