Hi there!
My bf has a sulcata tortoise who is about 3 years old. I just built an outdoor enclosure for him at my house, and im wondering what varieties of foods I can and should be giving him. Hes around 9" right now.... and hes lived on mainly romaine lettuce :( with occasional grazes outdoors in the grass. So I know ill have to "wean" him off of that habit. But should I feed him every other day? And how much should he be getting?
Ty!

Hi "Dizzy" and welcome to the Forum!

Baby tortoises should be fed every day. You can buy the packaged salad mixes that contain a nice variety of different greens and offer that to him along with escarole, endive, turnip greens, etc. Read the important threads at the top of the sulcata section. We have up to the minute care-taking info shown there. Forget all you ever read or learned about tortoises in the past, and start with no misconceptions or preconceived ideas. Go with what we have for you in the Sulcata section.
