I would greatly appreciate any help. My 6 month old sulcata has in the past couple weeks starting eating and drinking less and is very lathargic. She struggles to open her eyes it seems she's always so tired. Falling asleep in the food bowl right on top of fresh food? She wasn't like this before. Her diet has been different lettuce, dandilion, kale, we offer watermelon rind or strawberries but she's never eaten those. Her house is wood and large and has a dark section that stays about 74 degrees and the light section about 93 right under the light. She is on timothy hay for bedding. UV light too. She won't even act very responsive to a warm bath. I'm really worried...
Any suggestions?

It sounds sick, the eyes are a major clue. I suspect it is not either getting enough calcium and or sunlight. I would take it to a vet ASAP.

Yes, a vet trip right away is what I would do also. Best of luck I hope your sully gets the help it needs and turns around for the better very soon!

Hi kdc0305:

Welcome to the Tortoise Forum!!

What would you like us to call you?

...and may we know appx. where in the world you are?

I'm with everyone else on this...your baby needs to see a qualified tortoise vet as soon as possible.

Are you using one of those compact fluorescent (spiral) bulbs?

In the meantime, you can soak him in warm water with some Gerber strained carrots added to it. Leave him soaking for at least 15 minutes, but longer is better.

I agree, get to the vet as soon as possible.

In the meantime, soak twice daily for a good half hour and maybe boost the temperatures a little. Keep her warm.

If she poops, take some to the vet for analysis.

Let us know how she gets on.
