Interestingly, this ad is mapped as being on the same street as these ads, posted by some sort of breeder... flipper... whatever in Cabazon.

Also interesting or perhaps just sad. I have strong reason to believe this is the same "breeder" that produced and subsequently neglected my last 3 rescued tortoise hatchlings. 2 of which died as a result. The location (neighborhood) is correct according to what I was told by the girl who surrendered them to me.. All of which the breeder gave to her already in bad condition.

I've noticed a lot of "tortoise rescues" of craigslist recently. It's sad to think that someone might be giving this guy their turtle/tortoise thinking he's a rescue and then he's just selling them. Not saying this guy is doing that, but it's interesting that he has a "rescue" ad.

The "rare mutant Sulcata" is real hoot.

And the Caiman lizard piled in the small tank with all those aquatic turtles...boy oh boy.

Apparently, Cabazon has more than one shady Turtle/tort breeder. I emailed the "rare mutant sulcata" to test the waters and see if it was the person who produced Tripod. It isn't--rather, it is a guy who breeds aquatics. Sigh... One who crowds Caimans with turtles in tiny tanks, and one who has a track record of letting their babies develop serious MBD. It is a very sad neighborhood overall for reptiles.
