I have had my Hermann's tortoise since August of 2013. I bought him from a reptile dealer at a reptile show. The dealer had marked all of the tortoises with a number in silver sharpie on their shells. Little A'Tuin (my tort) is now 10 months old and the sharpie is still visible on his shell. Is this something I should be trying to get off? I kind of assumed it would eventually fade, but I want to make sure this is not posing him harm.
