That's amazing that you saw that little guy. I am like a lot of folks here in that I "look" for nature.....and I'm pretty sure that you'd have to drop him all by himself upside-down in the middle of a paved bike path for me to see him! LOL

Great catch/release...and he's brand new this summer, a real little guy! Glad to see you let him stock-up on H2O b4 setting him free!

Do you know what kind it is?
Yes, it's an eastern box turtle. They live wild here, some adults in the sulcatas yard lay eggs and they hatch naturally. The youngsters can get through the fencing and wander around outside and live and grow naturally without any care from me. I enjoy seeing them grow after they get colors so that they can be identified. The hatchlings all look the same. Don't see them very often but usually spot them when weeding areas by hand.
