We have had Walker for quite a while and I know him pretty well, he seeks human contact for what ever reason, not always for food which is what he is usually looking for, sometimes he just wants to get in the way. Mothers Day weekend my grandson climbed on him and Walker took off and gave him a nice ride around the yard, stopping to grab some grass every now and then. A few days ago my grandson laid on his shell and Walker carried him around again. here are a few pics of the ride. By his actions he doesn't seem to care that someone is on him, he travels around like he does normally when other people are in his area other than just me.

My daughter has also ridden many a big sulcata. One didn't seem to like it and did the butt dance telling her to get off. All the others just went about their business, grazing and what not, like Walker did.

I think this is a pretty neat thing as long as the tortoise doesn't mind. I'll bet your grandson grows up loving tortoises and probably won't even remember why. I rode the Galops at the SD Zoo when I was his age and look what happened to me... :)
