I am planning to build an above basking platform for my turts for them to have more swimming area. I have some quetions. What should i use as a ramp? What should i put actually where the turtles will bask, like on the floor. I would like to include a nice plant. Are there any that if a turt wants to eat, can take a nibble? Thanks!

I made a simple one using glass from homedepot, then I just used drift wood as the basking spot. It's like a hybrid above tank basking area.

For the ramp I would cut a piece of acrylic and silicone natural looking gravel for grip. You could use thin pieces of slate for the actual platform, but make sure they don't get too hot under the basking lamp. Anacharis is an aquatic plant that they can eat, you could consider drilling a hole in the platform and pulling some anacharis through while keeping the roots in the water.

Here's a picture of mine, used the 36 inch by 12 inch glass sheets from himedepot only like 6 dollars a sheet need 2, cut and glued done in one day. It's just the sides because I use wood to act as the basking area. Prevents escape. But if I want I could build a basking platform just didn't wanna cut out to much light in the left side, I have all live plants they need light. Overall it's doing great turtles love it and my water is pretty much to the top

Think it may be the iPhone app. It's not always the best lots of bugs but for the basics replying and reading it works alright
