i'm not sure how old my russian tort is, but he's about 5inches long exactly. since i bought him from a pet store i'm not sure on his exact age and they said that he was about a year old but he is clearly older so my question is how will i know when he is ready for breeding? im in no big rush but would just like to know.

Size is generally more important than age when it comes to breeding. For Russians, the general consensus seems to be that males are ready to reproduce at around 5 inches, and females at 6 inches.
