When do baby sulcatas go from baby to juveniles?
Tom said:I call them hatchlings until the egg tooth fades.
Babies for the first year.
Yearlings from day 366 to year 2.
Juveniles until they reach breeding size. (14" for males, 17" for females, generally)
Adults once they hit breeding size. For a smaller male, say over 14" but under 20", I might call it a sub-adult.

Sulcata_Sandy said:Dark and light are just individual variances in genes...like we have different hair color. I've seen people speculate it's the amount of UVB, or northern states vs southern states, but I've seen very dark torts in AZ, and very light ones in Canada. A well published Sulcata expert and I chatted about it, and it seems to be simply genes.
Personally, I prefer the dark ones....like dark, rich mahogany. I think they look prettier, but that is my personal preference.
