I apologize if this has already been asked because I can't spend all day reading all the posts on this thread P), but just out of curiosity, what kind of demand do you see for Aldabras? The initial cost and housing requirements are probably the most expensive in the non-permit tort world... are most hatchlings sold fairly quickly? I can't imagine there are too many breeding programs out there.

Great question! We produce many and actually have had a waiting list up to two years. We offer our hatchlings at thirty days old at about three inches and never have any issues with lack of demand. I know of two other sources that currently produce captive aldabra hatchlings in the US, one is a zoo with a solo female. The other is making good progress, however is having many challenges with over all consistant production. Hope this answers your question in general!

I will add that there does seem to be an increase in overall interest in aldabras by prospective keepers, however the initial purchase price does seems to deter some.
