Gotta love the cute tortoise yawn!
That was fantastic to watch. What I find so interesting is that those eggs actually fall quite a distance. It is amazing that they don't break especially when they fall on top of each other. Are they soft at first? So that they have a bit if cushioning for the fall.

The once or twice i have handled eggs from mine i have picked them up as if it was going to break at the slightest knock. Guess i was wrong. Lol. Probably would still pick them up like that but good to know that they are tougher than they look.
Your torts or giants i should say always look so amazing. Really stunning beasts.

Very interesting. In the wild would you say that some break in the fall?~ Sometimes we will place a soft towel at the bottom of the nest just before she lays to help cushion the fall, things really depend on several variables and factors as to exactly what we do each clutch.

Oops missed these before my comment on the wild eggs.~ They do break at times, we make every possible effort to catch them as they fall. Some of our females are very skiddish at times and we simply do not interfere unless we think it she is not effected at all by our involvement.

Sorry last question. Do they get any bigger than this one?
