I don't think Grampa Turtle left the squirrels out in the sun on purpose. An unfortunate part of trapping. Let's give him the benefit of the doubt.

I used to actively trap. I still have several traps, all are harmless Hav-ahart types. I caught racoon, opossum mostly. It can be dangerous but I was lucky or careful. LOL

I don't use them anymore since we moved into practically a living zoo.

That Superman squirrel and I are getting to know one another. I began offering food right below his home. Funny about that....whenever I walk up close to his tree, both of them bolt from their box. I'm hoping repeated behaviors can be altered.
I dashed his bird feeder dining by using duct tape to tie 1 side of the baffle to the feeder....a very effective block until he develops his vertical jump another 8".
