Andrea might be sick!

so this weekend Arizona did not have it's normal weather at all! it rained all weekend and stayed cold pretty much the whole time. I went home on Sunday morning to visit my parents and see how Andrea had been doing while I was away and if he had come out of his hole yet and lets just say it was a good thing I did! Andrea was sitting in the corner of our yard soaking wet and not moving! we immediately put him in the house we made for him a few years ago and he went right under the heat lamp! since then he hasn't really moved or eaten and I don't know what we could do! he has already had double pneumonia once and I don't want him to have it again! is there anything else we can do for him?

What kind of tort do you have? How old is he, and when did he have double pneumonia?

I don't have the experience that some of the other members have, but it seems to me that the first thing to do is to get him warm and keep him that way. Sounds like you have done that. If it were me I would bring him into the house and get him warm. Like 80F - 85F, and then let nature run it's course. Either he will be stimulated to move and eat, or he will remain lethargic and you may be headed to the Vet. Please let us know of his progress.

in order to help you further, we need more info. Is he too big to lift into a warm tub? If at all possible, get him into some warm water and keep the water warm. Soak him for 30 minutes or more. How's he doing now?

Does tort have any signs, runny nose, bubbles from nose? Best thing is to keep it nice and warm and take to a vet if tort don't start eating and getting back to normal.

how cold did it get? they are pretty hardy.. but with the past illness, it could be some concern i guess...

It got pretty cold at night. mid 30's. we have been having chilly weather. not like chicago but pretty cold for us. I hope your tort gets better!
