Hey, I don't have any experience with them but I noticed at a gardencenter they are selling tortoises and I was unsure about how they are keeping the little guys. I wanted to get some other opinions on it. I noticed a lot of fruit in their food bowl and it was all covered in this dirt and looked like they hasn't been looked at for a while because the water was also a mucky brown colour, also I noticed one little fella was struggling to climb up to the water dish. It just looked very dry and unclean ImageUploadedByTortForum1380149837.322560.jpgImageUploadedByTortForum1380149868.122195.jpgImageUploadedByTortForum1380149901.685169.jpg

Well, that IS a nice, big habitat, but not enough substrate. Also, those type bowls need to be buried up to the rim so the little tortoises don't have to climb to get into them. The substrate sort of looks like walnut shells, which isn't a good substrate. I would like to see some plants in there and some moisture in the substrate. I don't remember seeing any hiding places. And that looks like a mercury vapor bulb, so that's good.

They look good in regards of pyramiding , but they do need a few habitat changes. Find out what their staple diet is
