My tortoise has reached an awkward size, he has grown too big for his clay saucer hes in right now. But hes too small for the next size up as the walls are too high. Is there any other good type of dish for him to get water out of?

Bury it to be level with the substrate and put a rock or two in it so he can get out easier.

I've never had this problem. The Lowes near me carries lot of different sizes and I always just bump them up to the next size.

I use pyrex pie plates for the torts, and the pyrex 8x8 baking dishes for the boxies. They work well and make cleaning very easy, I clean the hard water deposits off them with vinegar, then wash and rinse throughly.

We don't have a Lowes around here just a home depot which has very little options for clay ones. They mostly have glazed decorative ones that would be hard for him to grip.
