Hello! I'm new to the forum and new to owning box turtles as well. I’m excited to get to know everyone.

Here’s my boxie’s current setup. I’m raising Atlas (hatchling EBT) using the water method. He is in the plastic tub with some fake plants and a small hide. For heat, I have deep heat projecter from Arcadia Reptile. The temperature stays around 80F in the day and 65-70F at night.

He eagerly eats crickets, earthworms, and mealworms. However, he won’t eat the ZooMed turtle pellets I have offered him. I’ve tried mashing them up, but he still refuses it. Is this a problem?

Here’s his setup:

Looks great, and it's normal for them to go after things that wiggle at this size over prepared/commercial foods.
