So I bought an ivory and got it in today but I'm a little concerned about its shell shape. It's not round like I see most Sulcatas. It is a bit flat on the back. Should I be worried or is this a normal? Breeder told me the parents were a bit more long than most Sulcatas and it is normal.

it definitely is a little flatter the normal. but i honestly don't think it's anything to worry about it could simply be from where it was in the egg

Not "normal". How old is this baby? Sometimes they get a little funny shaped in the egg and it ail straighten out over time. Sometime they just have a birth defect.

If you paid top dollar for this baby, you have a valid complaint. If it was discounted, now you know why.

I would be more worried that the eyes seem a bit swollen. Be sure to soak this baby daily in warm water for about 15 or 20 minutes. You can add a few drops of liquid bird vitamins to the soaking water too.

The shell is more than likely due to being squashed up in the egg. Hopefully it will straighten out in time. Did the breeder have any others? Might be a good idea to see if you can trade this baby for a different one.
