Hi i check my tortoise eggs randomly this evening to find 2 babies im unsure how long they had been hatched to i set up a smaller set up keeping them warm under the lamp in the main viv why the big tortoise was bathing they haven't moved since have they died

Have you tried soaking them in shallow warm water

If that white stuff is perlite, it is deadly and should never be used.

Sounds like you might have cooked them under the lamp.

Yes just seems strange they both stopped moving when i moved them to the other set up after they was born quite active

Reptile shops have no idea what they are talking about and frequently give terrible advice and sell the wrong products. This is a perfect example.

Read those threads I left for you for the correct care info. Most everything else out in the world is old and wrong.

I agree with that last statement never go to pet shops edvice come here I got told somthing at a pet shop but then different here never ever listen to pet shops listen to this website I sep t hundreds of dollars because pet stores said it was the best but you don’t have to just ask me or anyone else they will teach you
