Several years back I tried to fix my tortoises diet from spring mix to more varied broad leafs, and got on a rotation of mainly collards and turnip greens with mustard greens as well. I was thinking I was doing well not realizing that collards ( his favorite) and mustards can cause iodine deficiencies with possible calcium binding. I am switching immediately to more lettuces and weed like greens, but am worried about any long term damage to his health and what I should look for. I was not doing a lot of things correctly after my mom who had taken care of him for years divorced and moved, and diet has been something I should have listened more about when posters gave me advice years ago. He is active, and eats well, but I still worry.
