Because I am impatient I periodically candle my eggs to see where they are at or if they are infertile. Thought I would share a few pictures, because if you are impatient too (or if you just *love pics* like I know this forum often does) maybe you will enjoy them


Freshly laid; no sign of action



Developed a healthy blood supply and shows what many will call the "ring of life" at the top of the egg




Not a great photo but on close inspection you can see a tiny embryo has formed




A baby tortoise, A baby tortoise : ) at this point you can sometimes observe movement of the baby tortoises limbs but since I am impatient, I usually don't wait around for a kick.

If I am seeing it right, on the third pic it looks like the little tort is holding a big balloon. Yoke sack?
