Hi all,

I have recently been treating my beardie for worms and was told to use bene bac powder (bird and reptile probiotic) along with his dewormer. Luckily my redfoot is parasite free but this raised a question... would my redfoot benefit from adding benebac to his diet? Has anyone used it and is it even safe for torts?1562694386455~2.jpeg1562694426398~2.jpeg

Hey, something I know! :D

It's safe but it doesn't do much for a healthy animal. The acidophilus is the key ingredient for most critters. I've used the mammal version for my cavy during antibiotics and for soft stress poops while traveling. It works, but for one animal, it only takes a tiny pinch on top of veggies maybe twice a week (and at least an hour after any medicine is administered). It's unlikely you'll ever need the whole jar, but you can help keep the cultures alive longer by storing it in the fridge. If the powder in the container gets wet and crusty, throw it out.
