Hi all.
My cousin in Houston, Texas would like to get a tortoise for his family. Their yard is smallish but he can build a tortoise house and pen and let him roam their yard.
It rains in Houston a lot and is humid. Temps range from 50s to 100F with feel like temps occasionally up to 110 (this weekend while we’re here! Whew!). He seems to like the pretty tortoises like the stars, he really likes sulcatas but I don’t believe his has the room or the climate. I suggested a Russian but I made the mistake of showing him a Burmese star first, lol! He was blown away!
Are stars, redfoots, leopards, recommended? What else would you recommend? Note his yard is small because he’s in an subdivision, but he can afford to take good care of it and buy equipment.
Thanks so much.
