Biggest M.e.e. and M.e.p.

Hi all , was wondering what's everyone biggest in term of length ? Books always mention 24" but I have yet to see one my self - pictures please if possible .


21-22" for Mep in my herd


19-20" for Mee in my herd

My biggest MEE female is 18" and quite old. My male MEP is 19" and 11 years old. Haven't seen any really in the 24" size here. Close but not quite that long.

Emystiong, not to sidetrack the topic but is your Mee WC or CB and how long have you had her? Her colors and carapace is just stunning, colors and shape. Scutes appear completely straight, flat and glass smooth. I only hope mine turn out like her.

Mee is usually associated with dull brown colors, but this has to be one of the most colorful tortoises I have seen among all species. I believe I have seen front profile image of her elsewhere while back, I actually used it as a reference when I was getting hatchlings as to what I was looking for and was told, good luck! The many shades of greens, reds, and black not just on her carapace but also on limbs and head are just phenomenal. Would love to see more profile pictures of her.

This particular Mee female I got her as a WC at about 6" many years back and I am guessing she has some giant gene in her as she is still growing after hitting 21" ( usually F stop or slow down growth after they start laying )


Here's another old old mama as I call her ( her scutes are all worn to a shine when you wet her ) similar coloring of olive green , reddish brown ..... All at just about 17" ( I don't think or have seen her grown more since I got her 12 or 13 years ago !!

That LTC Mep , was she caught at that length or did she reach that size while under you care ? She still growing after 21" ?

I am also curious about CB do they grow larger than their WC parents in USA .

Over here in Borneo they ( as in CB) do grow faster but all don't outgrow their parents .

Let's wait for more inputs - I am pretty sure 24" are non-existence nowadays ( maybe museum has specimen collected from 100 plus years ago )
