Hello, there is some black coloration on my sulcata’s tongue and I am wondering if it is cause for concern. Could this be mouth rot? Please see the photos attached.
** The slime is from the cactus, his mouth is NOT normally slimy **
Age: 3 1/2 years old
Location: Florida. Lives in an outdoor enclosure most of the time.
Diet is mazuri diet, zoomed grassland tort diet, timothy hay, bermuda grass, collards and kale.
He likes to eat poop sometimes… and he gets dirt on his mouth when he eats fresh grass… but why does the black stick to his mouth so much? He doesn’t let me touch his face long enough to scrub it off.
