I found poor little Boulder upside down in his water dish when I got home from work:(. He is okay now and all clean (he pooped a lot). When I cleaned him off and misted him, he yawned and stretched, then went and got a drink from his clean bowl, poor little guy! So glad he is okay. I moved the rock that I am pretty sure he rolled off.

That's exactly why when my torties were super tiny, they went to nascarmw's house across the street! She was my tortie sitter!!! Didn't your stomach get all knotted up? Ugh, scary!!! I am SO GLAD he is ok!!!

Yeah I caught Andy once months ago upside down near the heat lamp.

We think he was only there for mabe 20-30 minutes. He was fine...all I did was flip him over, throw some mazuri on a plate to check if he was okay, and he went at it in a heart beat.

I think a lot of us have gone thru that, Tejas flipped himself over a few times and he poop good the first time it happened, must have scared him bad. Luck for us it has been a while and he has not done it again.. Happy that Boulder is okay..

I had to reorganize out of fear of something like this.I put the water dish in the middle away from the rest of the tank landscape.A day ago I almost had to flip her over when she tried to climb in-between the dish and her basking platform. She can't tell how wide her shell is in comparison the the terrain. If there is a tiny spot she wants to squeeze into it.

That's the funniest thing ever to watch. I love when they think they're skinny or small enough to get into something.

I was so scared when I saw him, he looked dead! I stayed in with him for a long time telling him how sorry I was that it happened and that he was ok now. I know he has no idea what I am saying but I wanted to say it anyway:p

It's so hard when you find them upside down. It's very scary. Glad he seems to be ok though.

I am so relieved for both of you. After following a post of yours a few days ago...I said, "what did Boulder do now" with a smile as I was clicking on the post...but I wasn't smiling as I was reading what had happened.

I cannot imagine walking over and seeing Gypsy or Iago upside down. They are always trying to be the first to the corner of the hide. I check on them regularly...just in case they burrow down too deep and one tumbles over.

Glad to hear he was alright...and that you moved the water dish.

How scary. I'm glad Boulder is okay.
My little guy still can't flip himself back over.

Happy to hear he is ok, its very scary when lil creatures have an accident and there's nobody there to save them.

We've had that happen with OP before. So scary to see them like that. Glad Boulder is ok!

You can put marbles and small pebbles in the water dish to help him flip himself back over. Or you can take the water dish out and just soak him regularly. I know that is something that may start a debate, but I have several habitats that don't have a water dish in them, but I soak those animals daily so they don't need a dish...

It hasn't happened again, I am pretty sure I removed the culprit. There was a sloped smooth rock on the high end of mulch that I believe he rolled down and into the dish. Since moving that he has been in and out of the dish a lot with no problems :)

My little Franklin used to do that when he was about Boulder's size! He used to enjoy climbing his half-log hide and then we would find him upside down from falling off while climbing or even once we found him face first in the sand because he had nose dived off the end, lol. He was sure something!

He made it to adulthood though despite his daredevil ways, lol. 15 now!
