Ok, this is crazy. My male box turtle has been sitting on two oak logs in his enclosure for two days. I moved him during this time and he went back I found today. He hide under branches there.
However I lifted the branches and took him up and under him was this egg. Yes he is the male. Lol

is this a box turtle egg?
I only found one. Could my female have buried the others? Why would this one be on top of the logs by itself?

however I took it and buried it 6 inches in the ground in the enclosure just in case.

You are positive that Box Turtle is a male? Are there any other species of turtles in that enclosure? The egg looks a bit long compared to the Box Turtle eggs I have seen. Also the size appears smaller than some Box Turtle eggs I have had laid here, but with nothing in the photo to show the scale it's hard to say that for sure.

It looks more like a lizard or skink egg. It's hard to tell the size from the pic though.
