Does anyone here do anything in particular as enrichment for their box turtles?
- When I do live foods like worms or snails or slugs I hide them through out her enclosure so that she has to find them and since she’s kept outside if they somehow managed to get away there’s no harm done.
- My kids and I go for lots of walks in the woods around us and I often collect just little bits of different leaves and flowers that she would have been exposed to and eaten in the wild. I’m extremely careful to only get plants that I know are safe for her to eat.
- I do try to keep her food mixed up so she’s not eating the same thing everyday but I’ll admit to sometimes just giving her stuff she really likes instead of doing other things. And that happens more often than not when I’m busy and don’t have a lot of time to figure out what to do.
