I have a box turtle that I normally feed crickets, worms, and meal worms (along with sliced veggies and such but she really prefers the meat). I recall reading once that occasional tiny fish could be used as a treat—not as a main food source. Is that accurate? Or, if not, is there anything else I could be feeding?

If you want to give your box turtle a seafood flavor to add variety, try something like Omega One Cichlid Pellets. You can float them in her soaking water or turtle pool (if there's a filter, you might want to turn it off for a few minutes while she eats). My Gulf Coast box turtle really likes them, and it's a good way to work in all those trace elements and nutrients that she may not be getting from her usual diet.

I add a bit of my Mazuri water turtle pellets (soaked) to the chopped up fruit and veg/greens, and I usually have zilla omnivore food on hand too.
