Hi there,
I have a pair of Ornates outside year round. With the occasional pick up to check weights and beaks, they are not handled much. There is a forum member that purchased a pair of sub adult Ornates that she is pretty sure wild caught and wants to get them a better situation, as she wanted some nice happy pets.
So, what are the chances 2 pairs can live together? I see lots of folks have multiple boxies, but since I never planned on getting more I never looked close enough to know if you put 2 males together, ever. I know it's chancy when ever 2 males are in the same area.My pen is about 25 by about 15 ft. with lots of cover.50/50 chance? or just probably unlikely?
OK that was question 1, question 2, since these new ones are probably WC,after vet check for parasites, and poss URI, when is reasonable if both are clear to allow them to interact to see if I need a new pen? I know you should quarantine for reasonable time, but if a fecal is clear and they appear healthy, is 2 weeks pretty enough? Do they get a shipping type stress that can cause a upper respiratory, like mammals?
Just not sure.
Thanks for your opinions!!
