Boy or Girl

Our Matimeo is 3 yrs old. We've had him/her since he/she was a hatchling just about. Can anyone tell me if there is a way to tell if he/she is a boy or girl? I know it's pretty young to try and decide but I was just wondering.

What species is Matimeo and how big? Size and species will determine if he/she is too young/small to sex.
