My Russians have been breeding each day for about two weeks in the female's outside enclosure... 10-15 minutes each day.

Today, I went out midway through their conjugal visit to see how/if the rainstorm that had rolled in was affecting them.

Chili, the male was mounting Persephone, the female, when I approached, and when he saw me he dismounted and crossed the enclosure, coming towards me with his beak open and snapping in my direction.

He had never behaved like this before and I wondered if it was likely related to the mating, the thunder, the rain, some fight/flight response, or something else.

I appreciate any input you may have.

Jamie
