Does anyone know if special permits or licenses are involved in the breeding and selling of spotted turtles?

I live in Louisiana, which currently has NO laws related to spotted turtles.

Bog turtles are protected under the federal Endangered Species Act. That means they can't be sold, traded, transported over state lines. There are also no CBW permits given out for that species. They can be sold in a state where they already have been in captivity, but good luck proving that definitively.

Thanks Anthony P I know we have some people breeding them in FLA. Not outside because of the heat ,but inside. I just have not seen any this year that is why I was asking . That is why when I buy or someone gives me an animal I get it in writing to CYA in years to come.
