I have been using zoo med reptisun tube lights and separate basking light, but I am now switching to a mercury vapour bulb. What strength bulb would be the best for a Russian tortoise and 2 Greeks.
Also would it be ok to keep the tube light in their enclosure as well for extra light or will they be getting too much uv.

The MVBs come in 100 watt or 160 watt sizes. Which size you need will depend on the size of your enclosure, how big of an area you wish to heat, what height you mount the bulb at, and what temp you want to achieve under it. Either will work.

No problem to leave the florescent tube running. Most of them drop off in UV output after a few months of run time, but they will still light up the enclosure just fine for years.
