Calcium!

Happy new year all! Healthy and strong! I received my new calcium some days ago! I couldn't find arcadia because they haven't imported in Greece yet! Arcadia has 10% magnesium though! Is this so important for tortoises? If yes in which foods can we find magnesium? Thank you all!

Magnesium helps with calcium absorption. The labels marked as "With D3" have more magnesium to assist with this. Generally, I use without D3 When my tort can get a few hours of direct sunlight per week, and with D3 when he's stuck using UVB lamps with no direct sunlight.

Don't go overboard with it. Too much is not good. Use the size of your tortoise and it's current diet to guide your instincts. A small pinch sprinkled with the food once or twice a week generally will be enough. Happy New Year!
