So I wanted to put out for feedback my method of supplying calcium to my Sulcata's while they are in their outdoor enclosure.
While the grass for grazing is still damp with dew, I sprinkle limestone flour over half the area. This gives them the opportunity to graze calcium or non calcium grasses. I apply this every other day or so. I live in the Pacific northwest and we get a lot of rain which leaches the calcium out of the soil. Bi-monthly, I direct sprinkle the flour on greens that they love, to ensure ingestion.
Knowing what I know about cuttlefish, and their intelligence, I don't feel comfortable using them as a source. Thoughts, feedback, brow beating? Let me have it.
